AutoSafe has been awarded the Gold Medal at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva for its innovative project, “Vision-Based Monitoring of Construction Site for Worker Safety Protection.”
The 48th IEIG featured a record number of inventors, universities, institutes, and companies from about 40 countries and regions, showcasing nearly 1,000 inventions. A total of 293 inventions from Hong Kong participated in the show. AutoSafe’s team was one of the 19 teams on the delegation from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), which participated in the exhibition.
AutoSafe’s Vison-based monitoring system enhances construction site safety by tracking the individual worker’s behavior at work with the power AI. The technology tracks construction workers and ensures they wear necessary protective equipment through an integrated framework and in-house deep neural networks. The system also includes a human-centric incident reporting system for missing PPE and unsafe behavior, which adapts to site-specific requirements.
One of the key technology edges of AutoSafe’s Vision-based monitoring system is multi-camera coordination for continuous worker trajectory tracking over wide areas. The system has also shown a 13% higher accuracy of PPE compliance checking over baseline algorithms, making it a reliable and effective solution for enhancing worker safety.
AutoSafe has also integrated AI with Digital Works Supervision System for incident logging and alerting, providing real-time notifications to construction site managers when potential hazards are detected. This enables prompt action to be taken, preventing accidents and enhancing worker safety.
